Washington, DC – Reality television host turned 45th president, Donald Trump, has a lot to apologize. The way the New York native responded to the devastation in Puerto Rico, how he has underplayed the pandemic, the way he has handled the peaceful protests revolving the Black Lives Matter movement, the illegal actions he has put in place with ICE; all of these things have shown us the true monster the “self-made billionaire” truly is. But let’s go back to the beginning of his presidency, there were two things that already turned off the wonderful citizens of these United States: Trump had been divorced and he didn’t have a dog.
In the history of the United States, Trump is only the second president to go through a divorce. Ronal Reagan, the nation’s 40th president, had taken office after going through a divorce. And for dogs, well, we all know and loved Bo Obama. Bo is a Portuguese Water dog who held term in the office from April 14th, 2009 – January 20th, 2017. Since Trump took office, he is the first president since James K. Polk to not have any pet. And Polk wa the 11th president serving rom 1845 to 1849.
In an effort to win over some votes in the upcoming election, Trump decided to finally bring a dog into the White House. Or so he thought. After taking time out of his busy day playing golf, Trump answered some questions in a socially distanced press conference. When asked about which major city he plans to militarize next, he pulled out a cat and responded, “I got a dog. Are you all happy now? I finally got a dog. Just like the Kenyan guy before me, I now have a dog.”
