Hollywood, CA – If you’re a fan of Marvel comics, it can be hard to stay up-to-date with all of the news on their upcoming films and television shows. It seems that everyday, a new trailer comes out or a synopsis is released for an upcoming project focusing on one, or many, of the heroes. Lately, we’ve seen multiple trailers for the newest Avengers film, a renewed season of Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. along with a spinoff, an ant-sized trailer and a human-sized trailer to Ant-Man, and much, much more. While all of these releases keep Marvel fans happy and committed, the news they released yesterday might’ve been the icing on the cake.

Both Sony and Marvel announced on Monday that Spider-Man will be appearing in upcoming Marvel Movies. Sony had control of Spider-Man for the reboot, starring Andrew Garfield, but both films came nowhere near to the success of Sam Raimi’s trilogy. While Sony has been struggling to decide on whether or not to continue with their rebooted franchise or start over again, they made a surprising deal with Marvel.

Sony made the right move and partnered with Marvel Studios to bring  Spider-Man into the Marvel Universe. The deal wasn’t a million dollar deal, or even that much of a hustle, Sony wanted to see Spider-Man become as successful as the Marvel films. In order to do that, they had to turn Spider-Man back over to the rightful owners.

It was quickly decided that Andrew Garfield would not reprise his role as the New York City superhero. Names were thrown around for different actors like Donald Glover, but Marvel studios quickly picked their new lead to wear the red and black suite.

Comedic actor Andy Dick has been chosen to play Peter Parker in an unannounced Marvel Cinematic Universal film. It was a shock that Paul Rudd would be starring as Ant-Man, but having Andy Dick play the new Spider-Man has caused quite the commotion for Marvel fans. The people behind Marvel Studios have chosen the South Carolina native because they love his nerdy and comical charm.

There is no news on what film Dick will be starting off the role in, but we are more than excited to see how he handles the role and how successful this reboot of the masked superhero will be.
